Study: Molecular Characterization of the Staphylococcaceae family from Hipposideros bats in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile - Ife, Nigeria
show Abstracthide Abstract
In this study, we describe the presence of drug-resistant non-aureus Staphylococci from Hipposideros bats found in an abandoned basement in Ife, Osun State, using bacterial culture and whole genome sequencing. This study offers proof that drug resistance (DR) is now pervasive in the nation and that wild animals serve as a reservoir for the propagation and transfer of resistance genes.
